Teacher of the Deaf in Washington, PA
This full-time contract opportunity is for certified Teachers of the Deaf / Hard of Hearing to serve a K-12 student caseload within Fayette County, Pennsylvania. The position is onsite and designed for professionals holding an active DHHT Educator Certification. The assignment runs from ASAP through June 16, 2026.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver specialized instruction and support tailored for students who are deaf or hard of hearing across grades K-12
- Develop and adapt curriculum to meet individual student needs
- Collaborate with educational teams, families, and related service providers to enhance student learning and communication skills
- Monitor and report on student progress and adjust teaching strategies accordingly
- Participate in ongoing professional development and compliance activities
Qualifications:
- Active certification as a Teacher of the Deaf / Hard of Hearing (DHHT Educator Certification)
- Experience working with deaf and hard of hearing students in K-12 educational settings
- Strong communication skills and ability to work collaboratively with students, families, and school staff
- Commitment to onsite work schedule, full-time at 37.5 hours per week
