Contract Opportunity - Teacher of the Deaf and Hard of Hearing School Year 25/26
Blazer Jobs is actively interviewing experienced Teachers of the Deaf and Hard of Hearing (DHH) for a full-time position with school districts in the Wilmington, Delaware area for the 2025–2026 school year. This position offers the opportunity to support students with hearing impairments in achieving their educational goals within an inclusive learning environment.
Typical Responsibilities:

Provide direct instruction to students who are deaf or hard of hearing

Adapt curriculum and instructional strategies based on individual student needs

Support language development through auditory/oral, cued speech, sign language, or total communication approaches
-
Collaborate with general education teachers, interpreters, speech therapists, and families
-
Develop and implement IEPs in compliance with state and federal regulations
-
Monitor student progress and maintain accurate documentation
Minimum Requirements (Delaware):
-
Valid Delaware Educator License with an endorsement in Deaf/Hard of Hearing or eligibility to obtain one

Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Deaf Education or a related field
-
Proficiency in American Sign Language (ASL) or other communication methods used by DHH students

Ability to pass a Delaware state and FBI background check

Previous experience in a school-based or special education setting preferred
