ProCare Therapy is actively hiring Deaf and Hard of Hearing (DHH) Teachers to serve K–12 students across Maine for the 2025–2026 school year. We’re looking for educators who are committed to creating accessible, language-rich environments that support the success of all students.

Position Details

  • Locations: Statewide openings including Portland, Bangor, Lewiston, Augusta, and surrounding districts

  • Schedule: Full-time and part-time options available

  • Employment Type: W-2 contract position for the 2025–2026 school year

  • Compensation: Competitive hourly rates with weekly direct deposit

  • Contract Renewal: Strong potential for extension depending on district needs and performance


Qualifications

  • Valid Maine Department of Education teaching certification with a DHH endorsement (or ability to obtain)

  • Proficiency in American Sign Language (ASL)

  • Prior experience working with DHH students (preferred K–12)

  • Strong understanding of IEPs, assistive technology, and inclusive teaching strategies

  • Ability to comply with all state and district employment requirements


Responsibilities

  • Provide direct instruction tailored to the needs of DHH students

  • Develop, implement, and monitor Individualized Education Programs (IEPs)

  • Collaborate with classroom teachers, interpreters, and school specialists

  • Use a variety of communication methods to support language access and academic growth

  • Promote inclusion, self-advocacy, and communication skills
