Position Available: Teacher for the Deaf/Hard of Hearing
Location: Alhambra, CA
Start Date: June 3
End Date: June 28
Hours: 4-5 hours per day
Grade Levels: Preschool or 3rd-7th
Class Size: 6-8 students
Responsibilities:
- Provide instruction and support to students who are Deaf or Hard of Hearing in a self-contained classroom setting
- Develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) tailored to each student's needs
- Use American Sign Language (ASL) fluently to communicate with students
- Collaborate with other educators and professionals to ensure students' academic and social success
- Create a positive and inclusive learning environment that fosters student growth and development
Requirements:
- Valid teaching credential with Deaf/Hard of Hearing specialization
- Proficiency in American Sign Language (ASL) is a must
- Experience working with students who are Deaf or Hard of Hearing preferred
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to adapt teaching strategies to meet the diverse needs of students
