Teacher of the Deaf and Hard of Hearing (DHHT) - Longmeadow, MA
A school district in Longmeadow, Massachusetts is looking for a teacher to work with their hard of hearing student population. As a Deaf and Hard of Hearing Teacher, you will be responsible for providing specialized educational services to students who are in need of support within the deaf and hard of hearing community. You will work with students to develop communication skills, facilitate language development, and provide support in accessing the curriculum.
Next 2024/25 School Year. School District is looking to Interview immediately.
Job Details:
- Full-Time
- IEP work: Meeting with Students, Staff/Team
- Collaboration with General & Special Education Staff
- Familiarity with resources utilized in Hard of Hearing instruction
- Onsite
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Deaf Education or related field
- State certification in Deaf Education or ability to obtain certification
- Experience working with students
- Familiarity with American Sign Language (ASL) and other modes of communication used within the deaf community is desired but not required
- Knowledge of assistive technology and other accommodations for students who are deaf or hard of hearing
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work collaboratively with a team of professionals
