DHH Teacher (Leave Position) - Chicago, IL - Fall 24/25 School Year
Location: Northern Suburbs of Chicago
Pay: $45/hour
Employment Type: Full-time, Temporary (August 12 - November 8)
We are seeking a dedicated Teacher of the Deaf and Hard of Hearing (DHH) for a temporary leave position in the northern suburbs of Chicago. This position starts on August 12 and ends on November 8, offering weekly pay at $45/hour. Although this is a non-extending leave position, we can assist in placing you in another district once the assignment ends. The role is itinerant, with travel between multiple schools required.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide instruction and support to students who are deaf or hard of hearing across different school sites.
- Adapt curriculum and teaching methods to accommodate individual learning needs.
- Collaborate with other teachers, administrators, and specialists to ensure student success.
- Develop and implement Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) and track student progress.
- Maintain accurate records and report on student development to parents and school administration.
Qualifications:
- Mandatory: Licensure as a Teacher of the Deaf and Hard of Hearing.
- Sign language skills are not required, but familiarity with visual aids and assistive technology is beneficial.
- Ability to travel between different schools in the northern suburbs of Chicago.
- Strong organizational and communication skills.
- Experience with IEPs and collaboration with multidisciplinary teams.
