DHH Teacher - Gilbert, AZ - K-12 Itinerant
Location: Gilbert, Arizona
Pay:$42/hour
Hours: Full-time (8-hour days, varying start times)
Our school district in Gilbert, AZ, is seeking a talented Teacher of the Deaf and Hard of Hearing (DHH) to join our team for the 2024/2025 school year. This full-time itinerant role involves working across multiple K-12 schools, with a weekly pay rate of $42/hour and benefits. The school day start times vary, with some beginning at 7 or 7:30 AM, and others at 8:30 AM, but the workday remains eight hours. The position starts in July 2024 and ends in May 2025.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide specialized instruction and support to students who are deaf or hard of hearing across various schools within the district.
- Adapt curriculum and teaching methods to meet the unique needs of students in K-12 settings.
- Collaborate with classroom teachers, school administrators, and other specialists to ensure student success.
- Develop and implement Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) for students and track their progress.
- Travel between multiple schools within the district to offer DHH support services.
Qualifications:
- Mandatory: Valid Arizona Fingerprint Card and DHH Certification (Please submit a copy with your resume for consideration).
- Experience working with students who are deaf or hard of hearing, preferably across multiple grade levels.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with a diverse team.
- Ability to work in different environments and adapt to varying schedules.
- Experience with IEPs and compliance with district and state guidelines.
