Deaf and Hard of Hearing Specialist - Naperville, Illinois

Qualifications:
- Valid Illinois Deaf and Hard of Hearing (DHH) License
- Illinois Professional Educator License (PEL)
- Previous experience working as a Teacher for Deaf/Hard of Hearing or in a similar specialist role preferred
- Strong skills in individualized student planning, communication, and collaboration
Responsibilities:
- Deliver specialized instruction to students who are deaf or hard of hearing, creating tailored educational strategies to meet each child’s unique needs
- Collaborate with general education colleagues, support staff, and families to foster inclusive classroom environments
- Participate in IEP meetings and help develop, implement, and monitor individualized goals
- Provide resources and guidance to staff and families to best support student learning and social-emotional development
- Track student progress and maintain accurate records
- Develop and adapt lesson plans promoting academic success and language development
