Deaf and Hard of Hearing Teacher (DHH) in Bolingbrook, IL
An exciting opportunity is available for a dedicated educator to support students as a Deaf and Hard of Hearing Teacher during the regular school year and ESY (Extended School Year) session. This contract position focuses on helping students reach their fullest potential by providing both direct instruction and consultative services. Qualifications and Desired Experience:
- Valid teaching certification in Deaf/Hard of Hearing education
- Experience as a Deaf/Hard of Hearing Specialist or Teacher
- Strong understanding of diverse communication methods and assistive technology used with DHH students
- Ability to collaborate effectively with classroom teachers, staff, and families
- Excellent communication, organizational, and documentation skills
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide 100 minutes per week of direct instructional services and 180 minutes per month of consultative support to students throughout the regular school year
- Deliver Extended School Year (ESY) Hearing Itinerant Services from June 15, 2026, to July 24, 2026 (Monday–Friday), including 100 minutes per week of direct instruction and 75 minutes per month of consultative support
- Adapt curriculum materials to accommodate various learning styles and communication needs
- Monitor student progress, maintain records, and contribute to IEP meetings
- Serve as a knowledgeable resource for faculty and parents concerning accommodations and instructional strategies for DHH students
