Soliant Schools - Deaf / Hard of Hearing Specialist Contract Today Apply

Make a difference for students who are Deaf or Hard of Hearing by bringing your expertise as a DHH Specialist to a school setting. This contract opportunity runs from ASAP through June 12, 2026, with the potential to continue into the 2026-27 school year. Working two days per week, you’ll support 3rd through 12th-grade students with a manageable caseload of 10-11 students, helping them develop communication, academic, and social skills essential for success.

Desired Experience and Qualifications:

  • Valid credentials or licensure as a Teacher of the Deaf/Hard of Hearing (where applicable)
  • Solid background in working within school environments, particularly with diverse grade levels
  • In-depth knowledge of educational needs and best practices for students who are Deaf or Hard of Hearing
  • Ability to create and implement effective, individualized educational plans
  • Strong collaborative skills to work with classroom teachers, related service providers, and families
  • Proficiency in American Sign Language (ASL) is strongly preferred
  • Excellent communication and documentation abilities

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Provide direct and indirect services to students who are Deaf or Hard of Hearing in grades 3-12
  • Assess student abilities and develop individualized education programs (IEPs)
  • Collaborate closely with educators, interpreters, and support staff to foster an inclusive learning environment
  • Serve as a resource for staff and families regarding hearing loss and appropriate accommodations
  • Monitor and document student progress, adjusting approaches as needed
  • Advocate for each student’s needs and access to appropriate assistive technology
