Responsibilities:

  • Deliver individualized and group instruction to students who are hearing impaired.
  • Manage a caseload with a student-teacher ratio of 8:1, supported by a full-time teacher assistant.
  • Develop and implement educational plans tailored to the unique needs of Deaf and Hard of Hearing students.
  • Collaborate with school staff, families, and related service providers to enhance student learning and communication.
  • Maintain accurate records and progress reports in accordance with school policies.

Qualifications:

  • Certification or licensure as a Teacher or Specialist for Deaf / Hard of Hearing students.
  • Experience working directly with hearing impaired students, with an understanding of communication methods such as ASL, speech therapy support, or other relevant strategies.
  • Strong organizational skills to manage caseload and collaborate effectively within a multidisciplinary team.
  • Ability to engage students and adapt teaching methods to meet diverse learning needs.

Schedule & Location:

  • Start Date: July 29, 2026
  • End Date: June 25, 2027
  • Monday through Friday, 7:45 AM to 3:30 PM, following the school calendar.
  • Position based at a single school site in Madison, Mississippi.
  • Travel to Madison, MS, required for the duration of the assignment.
