This full-time teaching position offers an opportunity to work as a Teacher for the Deaf and Hard of Hearing, serving students from pre-kindergarten through 12th grade in Wilmington, DE. The role involves supporting a caseload of 53 students with Individualized Education Programs (IEPs), providing direct instruction and specialized services tailored to the needs of learners who are Deaf or Hard of Hearing. The position is a contract role requiring 37.5 hours per week, with a start date as soon as possible and availability through June 16th, including the potential to participate in summer school programs.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver direct instruction and support to students who are Deaf or Hard of Hearing across multiple grade levels
- Develop, implement, and monitor IEPs aligned with state standards and student needs
- Collaborate with educators, families, and related service providers to ensure comprehensive student support
- Assess student progress and adjust instructional strategies accordingly
- Maintain detailed records of student performance and communicate regularly with stakeholders
Qualifications:
- Degree in Deaf and Hard of Hearing education or a closely related field
- Valid standard teaching license
- Willingness to work with students ranging from pre-K through 12th grade
- Open to new graduates with relevant training and credentials
