Deaf and Hard of Hearing Teacher - Smyrna, Delaware

Qualifications and Experience:
- Valid certification as a Teacher of the Deaf/Hard of Hearing
- Bachelor’s degree or higher in Deaf Education or a related field
- Familiarity with individualized education plans (IEPs) and progress monitoring
- Experience with assistive technology and auditory/oral approaches preferred
- Excellent communication and organization skills
- Ability to work cooperatively with multidisciplinary teams and families
- Previous school-based or pediatric experience is a plus
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide direct instruction and support to students who are Deaf or Hard of Hearing in individual and group settings
- Develop and implement IEPs aligned with student goals
- Collaborate with teachers, therapists, and parents to adapt curriculum and ensure accessibility
- Advocate for students’ needs and promote self-advocacy skills
- Maintain accurate records and thorough documentation
- Participate in in-service training and ongoing professional development
