Travel Deaf and Hard of Hearing Specialist | Oakland, California
A specialized opportunity is available for a Deaf / Hard of Hearing Specialist to support students in grades 7 through 9 at a school in Oakland, CA. This role involves providing targeted educational services to a small caseload of four students, ensuring they receive the support needed to thrive academically and socially.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver individualized instruction tailored to the unique communication and learning needs of students who are Deaf or Hard of Hearing
- Collaborate with classroom teachers, support staff, and families to implement effective educational plans
- Monitor student progress and adjust teaching strategies to optimize outcomes
- Facilitate communication access and support assistive technology usage
- Participate in IEP meetings and contribute to developing appropriate accommodations
Qualifications:
- Valid California Deaf / Hard of Hearing (CA DHH) certification required
- Experience working with Deaf or Hard of Hearing students in a school setting preferred
- Strong communication and collaboration skills to work effectively within multidisciplinary teams
- Ability to tailor instructional approaches to meet diverse learner needs

- Start Date: ASAP for the 2026/27 school year, with end date TBD
