This position offers an opportunity to work as a Deaf/Hard of Hearing Specialist serving students split between two elementary schools in Oswego, IL. This role involves travel between Prairie Point Elementary and Churchill Elementary to provide specialized instruction and support tailored to students with hearing impairments.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver targeted educational services and support for students who are deaf or hard of hearing
- Collaborate with classroom teachers and support staff to develop and implement IEPs
- Utilize specialized instructional strategies and assistive technologies to enhance student learning
- Monitor student progress and communicate outcomes to parents, staff, and related service providers
- Travel regularly between the two assigned school locations to ensure consistent service delivery
Desired Qualifications:
- Certification or licensure as a Teacher of Deaf / Hard of Hearing students
- Experience working with elementary-aged students in a school setting
- Knowledge of current methodologies and technologies to support deaf and hard of hearing learners
- Strong communication and collaboration skills
- Ability to manage travel requirements between multiple sites
