Teacher of the Deaf and Hard of Hearing (TDHH) | Green Bay, Wisconsin
This position offers an opportunity to work as an Educational Interpreter specializing in Deaf and Hard of Hearing (DHH) students at the elementary school level in Green Bay, WI. This contract role is scheduled to run through May 29, 2026, supporting students throughout the school day.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide educational interpreting services for elementary students who are Deaf or Hard of Hearing.
- Assist students with communication using American Sign Language and other appropriate strategies.
- Collaborate with educators and support staff to enhance classroom engagement and learning.
- Adapt communication techniques to meet individual student needs throughout the school day.
Qualifications:
- Completion of at least two years of post-secondary education equivalent to 48 semester hours, or an associate degree or higher from an accredited institution.
- Alternatively, demonstrate proficiency through a formal state or local academic assessment in reading, writing, and mathematics instruction or readiness.
- Hold a valid Wisconsin Department of Public Instruction Educational Interpreter License.
- Experience working with DHH students, preferably in an elementary school setting.
- Strong knowledge of American Sign Language and educational interpreting best practices.
Location:
- Onsite position based in Green Bay, Wisconsin, in an elementary school environment.
- Full-time schedule of 37.5 hours per week.
