Qualifications:
- Current and active Tennessee Department of Education (TN DOE) Certification required
- Proven experience or specialized training working with Deaf or Hard of Hearing students
- Comfortable providing support and instruction across K-5, 6-8, and 9-12 grade levels
- Strong communication, collaboration, and advocacy skills
- Adaptable approach to meet the diverse needs and schedules of students
Responsibilities:
- Provide direct instruction and support to Deaf/Hard of Hearing students in general or special education settings
- Develop and implement Individualized Education Plans (IEPs) that address each student’s learning goals
- Collaborate with classroom teachers, families, and educational teams to provide comprehensive support
- Utilize amplification devices, assistive technology, and visual communication tools effectively
- Travel to different schools as needed based on the students’ itinerant schedules
- Document student progress and ensure compliance with state and federal guidelines
