What you’ll bring:
- State certification in Deaf/Hard of Hearing Education or ASL teaching credentials
- Proficiency in American Sign Language
- Previous experience working with deaf and hard of hearing students in a high school setting
- Ability to adapt core curriculum and develop lesson plans that support diverse learning styles
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills with students, staff, and families
Key responsibilities:
- Deliver direct ASL instruction and core academic content support to high school students
- Assess individual student needs and tailor instruction accordingly
- Foster an inclusive classroom environment that promotes student engagement and confidence
- Collaborate with general education teachers and other specialists to ensure accommodations and modifications are implemented
- Monitor and document student progress, adjusting teaching strategies as necessary
