Key Qualifications:
- Certification and demonstrated experience as a Teacher of the Deaf/Hard of Hearing, or as an ASL Teacher
- Proficiency in American Sign Language (ASL)
- Skilled in planning and delivering instruction for students with hearing differences
- Experience teaching or supporting high school students in ASL and/or core content areas
- Strong collaboration and communication skills with students, families, and interdisciplinary teams
Primary Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement lesson plans for ASL and other required subjects, customized to student needs
- Offer direct instruction, intervention, and academic support to students who are deaf or hard of hearing
- Collaborate with general education teachers and staff to ensure accommodations and modifications are in place
- Monitor progress and adjust teaching methods based on student assessment data
- Advocate for students and help cultivate an inclusive, accessible classroom environment
