Qualifications & Desired Experience:
- Valid teaching certification with an endorsement in Deaf/Hard of Hearing education.
- Proven experience working with students who are deaf or hard of hearing, preferably in a school setting.
- Strong understanding of a variety of communication methods and assistive listening devices.
- Ability to collaborate with general education teachers, support staff, and families to promote student success.
- Excellent organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide direct instruction and support tailored to students who are deaf or hard of hearing, both individually and in group settings district-wide.
- Develop and implement Individualized Education Program (IEP) goals in coordination with the multidisciplinary team.
- Facilitate effective communication and accommodations for students within the general education environment.
- Consult with general education staff to adapt curriculum and instructional strategies as needed.
- Maintain accurate records of student progress and participate in IEP meetings and professional development.
- Foster a positive, respectful rapport with students, families, and colleagues.
