Desired Qualifications:
- Valid teaching credentials for Deaf/Hard of Hearing education
- Proven classroom or itinerant experience supporting students with hearing loss
- Strong knowledge of assistive listening devices, visual supports, and language development strategies
- Ability to adapt instruction to a variety of grade levels and student needs
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills to collaborate with staff, students, and families
- Familiarity with IEP process and progress monitoring
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver direct instruction and/or consultative services to students identified as Deaf or Hard of Hearing across the district
- Develop and implement Individualized Education Plans (IEPs) in compliance with state and federal guidelines
- Work collaboratively with general and special education teachers to adapt classroom environments and instructional materials
- Provide expertise regarding communication access, accommodations, and use of assistive technology
- Support families with resources and strategies to reinforce learning at home
- Participate in staff meetings, professional development, and multidisciplinary team discussions
