Key Qualifications:
- Hold valid certification as a Teacher of the Deaf/Hard of Hearing
- Experience in K-12 school environments preferred
- Skilled in differentiating instruction for students with varying degrees of hearing loss
- Strong understanding of assistive technology and accommodations for accessibility
- Ability to develop and implement Individualized Education Programs (IEPs)
- Effective communication and collaboration with staff, families, and external service providers
Primary Responsibilities:
- Provide direct instruction to Deaf/Hard of Hearing students across multiple schools within the district
- Assess students’ strengths, needs, and progress in both academic and functional communication
- Collaborate with general education teachers and support staff to ensure inclusive learning experiences
- Offer consultative services and training to educators and families on best practices for accessibility
- Adapt and develop educational materials to suit student needs
- Support transition planning and self-advocacy skills for students
