- Proficiency in American Sign Language (ASL) and English
- Excellent communication, problem-solving, and interpersonal skills
- Flexible and able to travel between school sites within the district as needed
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) for students who are deaf or hard of hearing
- Provide direct instruction and support in both academic and communication skills
- Consult with general education teachers and staff to adapt curriculum and classroom environment
- Advocate for students’ access to programs, activities, and school-wide resources
- Collaborate with families, related service providers, and district specialists to promote success
- Monitor student progress, maintain accurate records, and participate in IEP meetings
- Stay current with best practices and instructional materials for Deaf/Hard of Hearing education
