Preferred Qualifications:
- Valid teaching certification in ASL or Teacher of the Deaf/Hard of Hearing
- Experience delivering high school–level academic content, ideally in a special education or inclusive setting
- Strong command of American Sign Language and/or experience supporting students who are deaf or hard of hearing
- Ability to modify and adapt curriculum to meet individual learning needs
- Excellent communication, collaboration, and organizational skills
- Passion for advocating for students and promoting self-advocacy
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide direct ASL instruction and support to high school students
- Deliver modifications and accommodations to ensure access to grade-level content
- Maintain accurate records of student progress and communicate regularly with families and IEP teams
- Collaborate with general education teachers and service providers
- Foster a positive, respectful, and supportive classroom atmosphere
