A full-time opportunity is available for a skilled Teacher specializing in Deaf and Hard of Hearing education, based in Monument, CO. This role focuses on providing comprehensive support and instruction to students with hearing impairments, fostering an inclusive and accessible learning environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) tailored to students who are Deaf or Hard of Hearing.
  • Collaborate with classroom teachers, specialists, and families to support student learning and communication.
  • Utilize specialized strategies and technologies to facilitate auditory and speech development.
  • Conduct assessments to monitor student progress and adjust instruction accordingly.
  • Advocate for accessible educational resources and accommodations within the school setting.
  • Participate in ongoing professional development to stay current with best practices in deaf education.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Certification or degree in Deaf Education or a related field.
  • Experience teaching Deaf and Hard of Hearing students in a school setting.
  • Strong communication skills, including proficiency in American Sign Language (ASL) is highly desirable.
  • Knowledge of assistive listening devices and specialized instructional approaches.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams.
