An opening opportunity exists for a full-time Deaf/Hard of Hearing (DHH) educator in a K-12 school setting located in Concord, NC. This contract position offers a school-year schedule with a caseload of approximately 10 to 12 students. The role focuses on delivering specialized instruction aligned with North Carolina standards, ensuring students’ educational needs are met in an inclusive and supportive environment.
Key responsibilities include:
- Providing Special Education services in accordance with Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) using evidence-based teaching practices
- Developing and implementing lesson plans with differentiated instruction to accommodate diverse learning styles
- Conducting hearing screenings and evaluations as necessary
- Actively participating in the IEP development process, contributing to present levels, goals, and service planning
- Monitoring student progress and effectively managing classroom behavior
- Maintaining accurate and timely documentation, including notes, summaries, and IEP records
- Communicating regularly and professionally with school staff, students, and families to foster collaboration and support
Qualifications:
- Valid North Carolina Department of Public Instruction (NCDPI) DHH Professional Educator’s License required
- Submission must include a screenshot of the active license
- Experience in teaching students who are Deaf or Hard of Hearing within a school setting is highly desired
