Teacher of the Deaf and Hard of Hearing in Salisbury, NC
A full-time, on-site Teacher for the Deaf and Hard of Hearing (DHH) position is available within a North Carolina school district, serving approximately 10–12 students. This role requires delivering specialized instruction tailored to students with hearing impairments, ensuring alignment with the North Carolina Standard Course of Study and compliance with Special Education standards.
Location: Concord, NC
Schedule: Full-time, school-based schedule (40 hours/week)
Caseload: Approximately 10–12 students
Qualifications and Requirements:
- Valid North Carolina Department of Public Instruction (NCDPI) DHH Professional Educator’s License (active license screenshot required with application)
- Experience providing Special Education services to students who are Deaf or Hard of Hearing
- Ability to develop and implement differentiated lesson plans based on IEPs
- Strong communication and collaboration skills to work with school staff, families, and related service providers
- Knowledge of applicable Special Education regulations and best instructional practices
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver Special Education instruction consistent with students’ Individualized Education Programs (IEPs)
- Plan, develop, and implement differentiated lesson plans to support individual student learning objectives
- Conduct screenings and evaluations when necessary to inform student instruction and placement
- Participate actively in IEP meetings, contributing to goal setting and service planning
- Monitor and document student progress, behavior, and instructional outcomes accurately
- Maintain thorough and timely documentation to comply with Special Education guidelines
- Foster effective communication with staff, students, and families to support student success
This contract position requires on-site presence to best support student interaction and collaboration within the school setting.
