DHH Teacher | Mooresville, North Carolina
This full-time, on-site teaching position is based in Concord, North Carolina, serving students who are Deaf or Hard of Hearing (DHH) within a school setting. The role involves providing specialized instruction and support tailored to meet each student’s individual educational needs.
Responsibilities include delivering Special Education services in alignment with Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) and the North Carolina Standard Course of Study. The teacher will develop and implement differentiated lesson plans, conduct screenings and evaluations, and participate in the IEP process by contributing to goals and service plans. Managing classroom behavior, monitoring student progress, and maintaining accurate documentation are essential duties. Effective communication with school staff, students, and families is critical to fostering a supportive and inclusive learning environment.
Key Qualifications:
- Valid North Carolina Department of Public Instruction (NCDPI) Professional Educator’s License in Deaf/Hard of Hearing
- Experience working with students who are Deaf or Hard of Hearing
- Strong knowledge of Special Education laws, procedures, and best practices
- Ability to develop and differentiate instruction based on student needs
- Excellent collaboration and communication skills
- Commitment to supporting a safe and inclusive classroom environment
Location: Concord, NC
Schedule: Full-time (40 hours per week), school-based calendar
Caseload: Approximately 10–12 students
