DHH Teacher | Richlands, North Carolina

Qualifications and Preferred Experience:
- Valid certification as a Teacher of the Deaf/Hard of Hearing
- Demonstrated expertise working with K-12 students who are Deaf or Hard of Hearing
- Experience developing and implementing IEPs for students with hearing needs
- Knowledge of sign language and assistive communication technology preferred
- Excellent communication, consultation, and organizational skills
- Flexibility to travel between school sites as an itinerant teacher
- Commitment to fostering inclusive classroom environments
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide direct and consultative instructional support to Deaf/Hard of Hearing students across multiple school sites
- Collaborate with general education teachers, families, and related service providers to ensure student success
- Develop individualized learning plans based on current assessments and student needs
- Advocate for appropriate accommodations and resources
- Participate in team meetings, training, and ongoing professional development
- Serve as an educational resource for staff and families regarding best practices for Deaf/Hard of Hearing learners
