A K-12 Teacher of the Deaf / Hard of Hearing (DHH) is needed for a full-time, on-site position in Concord, NC, serving approximately 10–12 students. This is a contract role for the current school year, following a standard school-based schedule of 40 hours per week.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide Special Education services in compliance with each student’s Individualized Education Program (IEP), applying best instructional practices.
- Develop and implement lesson plans aligned with the North Carolina Standard Course of Study tailored to diverse learning needs.
- Conduct screenings and evaluations to monitor student progress and inform instruction.
- Participate actively in the IEP process, including developing present levels, goals, and service plans.
- Manage classroom behavior and create a safe, inclusive learning environment.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date documentation such as notes, summaries, and IEP records.
- Communicate effectively and collaborate with school staff, students, and families to support student success.
Qualifications:
- Valid North Carolina Department of Public Instruction (NCDPI) DHH Professional Educator’s License is required.
- Ability to work on-site in Concord, NC.
- Experience working with students who are Deaf or Hard of Hearing in a K-12 educational setting preferred.
