Deaf and Hard of Hearing Teacher - Mansfield, Texas
A specialized teaching opportunity is available for a Teacher of the Deaf and Hard of Hearing to support students from PreK through 6th grade at an on-site school location in Mansfield, Texas. This contract role offers a flexible schedule ranging from part-time (minimum of 3 days per week) to full-time, with workdays of 7 hours each.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide specialized instruction and support to students who are deaf or hard of hearing.
- Conduct evaluations and assessments related to students’ hearing and educational needs.
- Attend Admission, Review, and Dismissal (ARD) meetings and collaborate with multidisciplinary teams.
- Read and interpret audiograms to inform instructional strategies.
- Manage a caseload of students from PreK to 6th grade, tailoring educational plans to individual needs.
Qualifications:
- Active Texas teaching license specifically for Deaf and Hard of Hearing education.
- Experience working within Texas schools preferred.
- Knowledge of auditory and communication development strategies.
- Strong ability to interpret audiological data and implement appropriate interventions.
