Your responsibilities will encompass a balance of direct student support, evaluation, and professional collaboration:
Key Qualifications:
- Active Texas DHH Teaching License through TEA is required
- Direct school-based experience in Texas is preferred
- Demonstrated skills in reading/interpreting audiograms, as well as conducting educational evaluations
- Confidence in managing a caseload and participating in ARDs (Admission, Review, and Dismissal meetings)
- Strong communication and organizational abilities
- Passion for fostering growth and success among DHH students
Role Requirements & Responsibilities:
- Serve as the primary DHHT for students in grades PreK-6 on a single campus
- Evaluate students’ needs, design individualized educational support plans, and track progress
- Participate actively in ARD meetings and serve as a knowledgeable resource regarding DHH accommodations
- Work closely with teachers, parents, and administrators to ensure consistent, high-quality services
- Read and interpret audiograms in support of student success
- Commitment to onsite work (virtual/remote options are not available)
- Flexible scheduling between 21-35 hours per week (minimum three 7-hour days)
