Step into a role where you’ll positively influence the lives of young students as a Deaf and Hard of Hearing Teacher, working hands-on with PreK to 6th-grade learners. This contract opportunity, located near Fort Worth, TX, focuses on supporting one regional campus dedicated to serving deaf and hard-of-hearing students. You’ll collaborate with a dedicated team, offering specialized instruction and advocacy for students who benefit enormously from your expertise and care.

Your responsibilities will encompass a balance of direct student support, evaluation, and professional collaboration:

Key Qualifications:

  • Active Texas DHH Teaching License through TEA is required
  • Direct school-based experience in Texas is preferred
  • Demonstrated skills in reading/interpreting audiograms, as well as conducting educational evaluations
  • Confidence in managing a caseload and participating in ARDs (Admission, Review, and Dismissal meetings)
  • Strong communication and organizational abilities
  • Passion for fostering growth and success among DHH students

Role Requirements & Responsibilities:

  • Serve as the primary DHHT for students in grades PreK-6 on a single campus
  • Evaluate students’ needs, design individualized educational support plans, and track progress
  • Participate actively in ARD meetings and serve as a knowledgeable resource regarding DHH accommodations
  • Work closely with teachers, parents, and administrators to ensure consistent, high-quality services
  • Read and interpret audiograms in support of student success
  • Commitment to onsite work (virtual/remote options are not available)
  • Flexible scheduling between 21-35 hours per week (minimum three 7-hour days)
