Job Title: Teacher of the Deaf and Hard of Hearing (DHH)

Job Summary:
We’re currently interviewing for a Teacher of the Deaf and Hard of Hearing (DHH) to join a supportive school district in Englewood for the remainder of the 2025–2026 school year. This educator will provide specialized instruction and support to students who are deaf or hard of hearing, ensuring equal access to the general education curriculum and promoting language, communication, and academic success. Collaboration with families, teachers, audiologists, interpreters, and related service providers is key to this role.

Position Details:

Full-Time | 37.5 hours/week

Monday – Friday | Onsite

Previous school experience preferred
Key Responsibilities:
-
Provide direct and consultative services to students with hearing loss in alignment with IEP goals.

Assess academic and communication needs using appropriate tools and strategies.

Develop and deliver lessons tailored to each student’s communication mode and learning style (auditory-oral, sign language, total communication, etc.).

Support development in language, auditory skills, speech, reading, and academics.

Collaborate with teachers and staff to modify instructional materials and adapt classroom environments.

Participate in IEP meetings, progress monitoring, and annual reviews.

Provide training and guidance to parents and school staff on hearing loss, technology, and accommodations.

Monitor and maintain hearing assistive technology (hearing aids, FM/DM systems, cochlear implants).

Travel between school sites as needed.
Qualifications:

Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Deaf Education or Special Education with DHH endorsement.

Valid state teaching credential for Deaf and Hard of Hearing.

Knowledge of communication modalities (ASL, Cued Speech, oral communication).

ASL proficiency preferred (required for some placements).

Strong communication, organization, and collaboration skills.
