Qualifications:
- Current certification or endorsement as a Teacher of the Deaf/Hard of Hearing.
- Proven experience working with students who are Deaf or Hard of Hearing, in either individual or group settings.
- Strong understanding of varied communication methods, such as American Sign Language (ASL), Cued Speech, or oral approaches.
- Ability to collaborate with multidisciplinary teams and support staff.
- Excellent organization, communication, and advocacy skills.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) in collaboration with IEP teams for students who are Deaf or Hard of Hearing.
- Adapt instructional materials and environments to meet diverse communication and learning needs.
- Provide direct instruction using appropriate communication modes for each student.
- Consult regularly with general education teachers and families to ensure accommodations and modifications are followed.
- Monitor and document student progress, making data-driven recommendations for instruction.
- Serve as a resource and advocate for accessibility and inclusion within the school setting.
This is a full-time position offering the chance to contribute to student success in a supportive educational setting. The role begins at the start of the upcoming academic term.
