Make a significant impact in the lives of students by supporting those who are Deaf or Hard of Hearing throughout a dynamic school district. This contract opportunity runs from August 11, 2026, through June 2, 2027, with a 35-hour work week. As an itinerant professional, you’ll serve districtwide across Early Childhood through Transition-aged students, delivering primarily consultative services. This is an on-site-only assignment, offering the chance to collaborate closely with educators and families while ensuring students’ unique communication needs are met.
Key Qualifications:
- Current DHH (Deaf/Hard of Hearing) teaching credential
- Valid authorization through the California Commission on Teacher Credentialing (CTC)
- Experience supporting Deaf or Hard of Hearing students in educational settings
- Strong consultative skills and familiarity with itinerant service models
- Ability to collaborate effectively with school teams, administrators, and families
- Excellent communication and documentation skills
Your Responsibilities Will Include:
- Providing itinerant, consultative special education services to students EC-Transition across multiple school locations within the district
- Collaborating with classroom teachers to modify curriculum and adapt classroom environments
- Supporting the implementation of individualized educational plans (IEPs)
- Participating in IEP meetings, assessments, and progress monitoring
- Offering professional development and advocacy to staff and families
- Maintaining thorough and accurate documentation of all student services and progress
