Qualifications:
- Valid state certification in Deaf/Hard of Hearing education
- Experience working with students in K-12 settings
- Proficiency with various communication modes, including American Sign Language (ASL)
- A strong understanding of Individualized Education Plans (IEPs) and accommodations
- Excellent collaboration and communication abilities
- Adaptability and a student-centered approach to instruction
Responsibilities:
- Provide direct instruction to students who are Deaf/Hard of Hearing in a variety of classroom and resource settings
- Develop and implement lesson plans tailored to individual learning needs
- Collaborate with general education teachers and support staff to create inclusive learning environments
- Monitor student progress, documenting growth and adjusting strategies as necessary
- Participate in IEP meetings, contributing valuable input for goal development and achievement
- Serve as a resource for families, helping them access tools and knowledge to support student success
- Stay current on best practices and continuing education in deaf education
