DHH Teacher | Fountain, Colorado
This full-time position is for an experienced Teacher specializing in Deaf and Hard of Hearing students, located in Fountain, CO. Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) tailored to the needs of Deaf and Hard of Hearing students.
- Utilize specialized instructional strategies and assistive technologies to support students’ learning.
- Collaborate with classroom teachers, speech-language pathologists, and audiologists to create an inclusive learning environment.
- Conduct assessments to monitor student progress and adjust teaching methods accordingly.
- Provide direct instruction in American Sign Language (ASL) or other communication systems as appropriate.
- Engage with families to support student development and foster home-school collaboration.
- Maintain accurate records and comply with state and federal regulations regarding special education.
Qualifications and Desired Experience:
- Valid teaching certification for Deaf and Hard of Hearing education.
- Proven experience teaching students with hearing impairments.
- Strong knowledge of communication methods such as ASL, cued speech, or auditory-verbal techniques.
- Ability to design and deliver differentiated instruction.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills for working with students, families, and staff.
- Familiarity with state standards and guidelines for special education.
