DHH Teacher | Hayward, California
Make a meaningful impact working onsite as a Teacher serving students who are Deaf or Hard of Hearing in an itinerant position across multiple school sites near Hayward, CA. This contract role spans the 2025-2026 academic year, starting August 10, 2025 and concluding June 4, 2026, with a consistent weekly schedule of 37.5 hours.
This position focuses exclusively on in-person instruction and support, as it is not open to virtual service providers. You will play a vital role as part of a collaborative educational team, championing accessibility, communication, and student empowerment.
What You’ll Need:
- Active California DHH (Deaf/Hard of Hearing) teaching credential/license
- Previous experience in California school settings strongly preferred
- Demonstrated organizational skills and effective communication
- Comfort and flexibility working across multiple campuses as an itinerant professional
- Commitment to fostering a supportive, inclusive environment for all learners
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide direct instructional support and consultation for DHH students across various campuses
- Develop and implement IEPs tailored to individual student needs in compliance with state guidelines
- Collaborate with general education teachers, specialists, and families to ensure students’ access to classroom content
- Maintain regular communication with colleagues and families to monitor progress and address emerging concerns
- Travel between assigned school sites as part of a dynamic, supportive educational team
