Position Details:
- Full-time, onsite position—no travel between campuses
- Hours: Monday through Friday, 7:00 AM – 2:45 PM (36.25 hours per week)
- Work directly with one 6th-grade student, fostering their confidence and growth
Qualifications:
- Current and active Deaf/Hard of Hearing (DHH) license in Tennessee (required)
- Experience working with students who are deaf or hard of hearing, especially in elementary or middle school settings, is highly preferred
- Strong knowledge of strategies, assistive technologies, and communication methods for DHH students
- Ability to collaborate with teachers, staff, and families
- Passion for empowering students and supporting transitions
Responsibilities:
- Provide specialized instruction and advocacy tailored to a 6th-grade DHH student
- Collaborate with general education teachers and school team to ensure inclusive access and opportunities
- Implement Individualized Education Program (IEP) goals and monitor student progress
- Support student’s social-emotional wellbeing during school transition
- Communicate effectively with families to foster partnership and support
