Teacher of the Deaf and Hard of Hearing (TDHH) - Ladson, South Carolina

Key Qualifications:
- Valid teaching certification with endorsement in Deaf/Hard of Hearing or Special Education
- Experience working with students who are deaf or hard of hearing in a school setting
- Proficiency in American Sign Language (ASL) or Signed English preferred
- Strong communication and advocacy skills
- Ability to develop and adapt Individualized Education Plans (IEPs)
- Team-oriented approach, collaborating with general educators, specialists, and families
Role Responsibilities:
- Offer direct instruction to students who are deaf/hard of hearing in individual or small group settings
- Adapt curriculum and teaching methods to accommodate different learning needs
- Consult with classroom teachers and staff to implement accommodations and modifications
- Monitor progress, evaluate student performance, and maintain accurate records
- Cultivate a positive, supportive classroom environment that fosters inclusion
- Engage regularly with families and caregivers to support student growth
