Teacher of the Deaf and Hard of Hearing in Ashland, OR

Qualifications & Experience:
- Valid teaching credential with appropriate Deaf/Hard of Hearing authorization or endorsement
- Previous experience working with K-12 students who are deaf or hard of hearing
- Proficiency in developing, implementing, and updating individualized education plans (IEPs)
- Strong skills in American Sign Language (ASL) and/or spoken language methods, as needed
- Ability to collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, families, and support staff
- Excellent communication and organizational skills
- Experience working in both in-person and remote instructional settings is beneficial
Responsibilities:
- Deliver specialized, evidence-based instruction to meet the educational needs of deaf and hard of hearing students
- Assess student progress and adapt instruction, ensuring IEP goals are achieved
- Partner with general education teachers and related service providers to promote student inclusion and success
- Engage in ongoing communication with families to provide updates and resources
- Utilize technology and visual supports to enhance accessibility and engagement
- Support students in self-advocacy, communication, and life skills as part of a comprehensive educational experience
