Key Qualifications & Desired Experience:

  • Current, active Michigan teaching license for Deaf/Hard of Hearing (mandatory; licensure status can be checked via the state’s credential site)
  • Prior experience working with K-12 students as a Teacher of the Deaf/Hard of Hearing or related specialization
  • Strong communication skills and a commitment to fostering educational growth in diverse learners
  • Familiarity or willingness to work with remote service delivery platforms is a plus
  • Ability to adapt teaching methods to meet individual student needs

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Deliver specialized instruction and support designed for Deaf/Hard of Hearing learners, tailored to individual education plans (IEPs)
  • Collaborate with classroom teachers, special education staff, and families to ensure students’ needs are being met
  • Monitor student progress, maintain accurate records, and participate in IEP meetings
  • Utilize technology and assistive listening devices where appropriate
