Key Qualifications:
- Valid certification in Deaf/Hard of Hearing education or equivalent state credentials
- Experience working with early childhood populations (birth-5 years old) is highly desired
- Strong knowledge of auditory/oral, total communication, and/or American Sign Language techniques
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills to work with families, teachers, and related service professionals
- Commitment to individualized education planning and family-centered service delivery
Core Responsibilities:
- Provide direct instruction and support to children who are deaf or hard of hearing, adapting techniques to best support each child’s development
- Assess student skills, progress, and needs, and participate in the creation of Individualized Family Service Plans (IFSP) or Individualized Education Programs (IEP)
- Collaborate with school teams, related service staff, and families to deliver comprehensive educational programming
- Support the transition of students into school settings and ensure continuity of services
- Maintain accurate documentation of student progress and communication with all stakeholders
