- Certification or licensure as a Teacher of the Deaf and Hard of Hearing (DHH)

- Strong knowledge of communication strategies, including American Sign Language (ASL) and/or auditory methods
- Ability to collaborate with general education teachers, support staff, and families to develop tailored educational plans
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Adaptability and a compassionate approach to meeting individualized student needs
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide direct instruction and support services to students who are deaf or hard of hearing
- Develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs)
- Consult with school staff to create accessible learning environments
- Utilize a variety of instructional techniques aligned with each student’s preferred communication modality
- Monitor and document student progress, sharing updates with families and education teams
- Stay current on best practices and advances in deaf education
