Key Qualifications and Desired Experience:
- Valid teaching license/certification for Deaf/Hard of Hearing instruction (state credentials required)
- Demonstrated success supporting children and adolescents with hearing loss in a school environment
- Ability to develop and implement Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) for DHH students
- Familiarity with current assistive technology, communication methods (such as ASL), and best practices in DHH education
- Passion for promoting access, advocacy, and inclusive learning for all students
- Strong communication skills to engage effectively with students, parents, and interdisciplinary teams
Responsibilities:
- Provide direct and consultative DHH instruction to students in various grade levels
- Design, adapt, and deliver instructional materials to meet individual student needs
- Support IEP development and implementation, including goal monitoring and progress reporting
- Collaborate with general education teachers, staff, and families to ensure accommodations and supports are in place
- Offer expertise and training regarding communication strategies, technology, and accessibility
- Advocate for student needs and facilitate an inclusive, supportive learning atmosphere
- Participate in team meetings and professional development as needed
