Qualifications:
- Valid teaching certification or endorsement for Deaf/Hard of Hearing (DHH) services.
- In-depth knowledge of current instructional techniques and tools for students with hearing differences.
- Experience working within school environments supporting children who are deaf or hard of hearing.
- Strong collaboration skills for working with students, teachers, families, and related service providers.
- Passion for advocacy and ability to adapt learning materials to fit individual student needs.
- American Sign Language (ASL) proficiency highly preferred.
Responsibilities:
- Deliver specially designed instruction to students who are deaf or hard of hearing in individual and small group settings.
- Develop and implement Individualized Education Plans (IEPs) tailored to each student’s unique needs.
- Consult and collaborate with general education teachers to facilitate inclusion and accessibility across the curriculum.
- Monitor and report progress toward IEP goals, maintaining accurate documentation.
- Offer guidance and support to staff and families regarding assistive technology, communication strategies, and hearing accommodations.
- Create an inclusive, supportive classroom environment that fosters student confidence and engagement.
