DHH Teacher | San Mateo, California

This in-person, itinerant role spans multiple school sites, providing essential support for students with hearing needs across a variety of educational settings. The assignment is set to begin August 10, 2026, and will conclude June 4, 2027.
This position requires an active DHH certification or relevant licensure for the state of California. The ideal educator is not only experienced in California schools but also demonstrates strong organizational skills and effective communication. As this is a site-based position, experience delivering direct, in-person instruction is essential (virtual service providers are not being considered).
Key Qualifications:
- Valid and current Teacher of the Deaf/Hard of Hearing certification or license in California
- Prior experience working in California educational settings is highly desirable
- Excellent organization and time management skills; able to coordinate schedules across several school locations
- Strong communication ability with students, faculty, and families
- Commitment to supporting the unique needs of DHH students
Responsibilities:
- Deliver in-person DHH instructional services and accommodations across multiple campuses
- Assess students’ needs and tailor instruction or interventions to support their learning and communication goals
- Collaborate with classroom teachers, administrators, and families to ensure optimal learning environments
- Maintain accurate documentation of student progress, IEP goals, and service delivery
- Serve as an advocate for DHH students, promoting inclusive practices and accessibility
