Teacher of the Deaf and Hard of Hearing (TDHH) – Texas

Location: Texas (School-Based Opportunity)

Job Description:

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Teacher of the Deaf and Hard of Hearing (TDHH) to support students across Texas. In this role, you will provide specialized instruction and educational support to students who are deaf or hard of hearing, helping them achieve academic success while fostering communication, social, and emotional development.

Responsibilities:

Develop, implement, and monitor Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) in collaboration with families, educators, and school staff.
Provide direct instruction tailored to the unique learning and communication needs of students who are deaf or hard of hearing.
Adapt curriculum, instructional materials, and teaching strategies to support student success.
Utilize a variety of communication methods, including sign language, auditory/oral approaches, and assistive technology as appropriate.
Collaborate with general education teachers and related service providers to ensure appropriate accommodations and modifications are implemented.
Assess student progress, maintain accurate documentation, and adjust instructional plans as needed.
Support students' language development, communication skills, self-advocacy, and academic achievement.
Participate in multidisciplinary team meetings and contribute to educational planning and decision-making.

Qualifications:
Bachelor's or Master's degree in Deaf Education, Special Education, or a related field.
Valid Texas teaching certification or eligibility to obtain Texas certification in Deaf Education.
TDHH certification or endorsement preferred.
Previous experience working with students who are deaf or hard of hearing in an educational setting is preferred.
Strong communication, collaboration, and organizational skills.
Familiarity with assistive hearing technology and educational accommodations is a plus.
