Remote Teacher of the Deaf and Hard of Hearing | Tennessee

A specialized opportunity is available for a Teacher of the Deaf/Hard of Hearing utilizing telehealth methods to deliver exceptional educational support. This contract position focuses on providing remote instructional services designed to meet the unique needs of students with hearing impairments.

Key Responsibilities:

• Conduct thorough assessments of students’ communication and auditory needs through telehealth platforms.
• Develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) tailored for students who are Deaf or Hard of Hearing.
• Deliver direct instruction and therapy sessions using virtual tools to enhance communication, language development, and auditory skills.
• Collaborate with families, educators, and support staff to ensure continuity of services and accommodations.
• Monitor student progress and adjust instructional strategies accordingly.
• Maintain accurate records and documentation in compliance with educational standards and regulations.

Qualifications:

• State certification or licensure as a Teacher of the Deaf or Hard of Hearing.
• Demonstrated experience in telehealth delivery of educational or therapeutic services.
• Knowledge of audiology, speech-language pathology, and Deaf education methodologies.
• Strong communication skills with the ability to engage students remotely.
• Familiarity with relevant educational technology and telepractice platforms.
