Virtual Teacher of the Deaf and Hard of Hearing - DE

A specialized opportunity is available for a Teacher of the Deaf and Hard of Hearing with expertise in telehealth services. This contract role is based in New Castle, DE, providing support and instruction tailored to students with hearing impairments through virtual platforms.

Key Responsibilities:

• Deliver individualized instruction and support to students who are deaf or hard of hearing via telehealth technologies.
• Develop and implement accessible lesson plans that meet students’ unique learning needs.
• Collaborate virtually with families, educators, and related service providers to promote effective communication strategies and student success.
• Conduct assessments and progress monitoring to inform instruction and interventions.
• Utilize assistive technologies and communication systems suitable for remote teaching environments.

Qualifications and Experience:

• Certification or licensure as a Teacher of the Deaf or Hard of Hearing.
• Proven experience providing telehealth services or virtual instruction in an educational setting.
• Strong understanding of auditory and visual communication modalities, including American Sign Language (ASL) proficiency preferred.
• Ability to adapt teaching methods to accommodate various technology platforms.
• Excellent communication and organizational skills tailored to remote collaboration.
