Online Teacher of the Deaf and Hard of Hearing - Minnesota
An opportunity is available for a Teacher specializing in Deaf/Hard of Hearing education through telehealth services. This contract position is based in Saint Paul, MN, and focuses on providing remote instructional support tailored to students with hearing impairments.
Key responsibilities include:
- Delivering specialized instruction and support to students who are deaf or hard of hearing via telehealth platforms
- Collaborating with school staff, families, and related service providers to develop and implement Individualized Education Programs (IEPs)
- Utilizing assessment tools to monitor student progress and adjust teaching strategies accordingly
- Providing communication strategies and auditory skill development tailored to each student’s needs
- Maintaining thorough documentation and reporting in compliance with educational and legal standards
- Staying current with best practices and technology in telehealth and deaf education
Qualifications and experience sought:
- Certification or licensure as a Teacher of the Deaf/Hard of Hearing
- Experience delivering instruction to deaf and hard of hearing students, preferably through telehealth or remote learning modalities
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to engage students and families virtually
- Familiarity with assistive technology and educational software for students with hearing impairments
- Ability to manage caseloads independently within a virtual environment
