About the Role
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Teacher of the Deaf and Hard of Hearing (TDHH) to support students in Minnesota. The ideal candidate will work collaboratively with students, families, and educational teams to provide specialized instruction and ensure students achieve academic and communication success in the least restrictive environment.
Responsibilities
- Provide direct and consultative services to students who are deaf or hard of hearing.
- Develop, implement, and monitor Individualized Education Programs (IEPs).
- Conduct assessments and contribute to evaluation reports as needed.
- Collaborate with general education teachers, related service providers, administrators, and families.
- Support students in developing communication, self-advocacy, and academic skills.
- Monitor the use and effectiveness of hearing assistive technology and accommodations.
- Maintain accurate documentation and progress reports in compliance with state and federal requirements.
- Attend IEP meetings and multidisciplinary team meetings.
Qualifications
- Valid Minnesota teaching license in Deaf/Hard of Hearing Education
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Deaf Education, Special Education, or a related field.
- Knowledge of hearing loss, amplification systems, and educational accommodations.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills.
- Experience in school-based settings preferred.
